SUN’s Employment Relations and Professional Practice teams are well-versed in labour relations, SUN’s collective agreements, nursing standards and competencies, and nursing best practices. Together they bring knowledge, expertise and experience and create a strong support system for Locals and their members.
The role of SUN’s Employment Relations and Professional Practice staff is to:
- Guide Locals handling nursing concerns and day-to-day functions of the Local;
- Support Locals in escalating member concerns when appropriate; and,
- Represent and protect the interests and rights of members, with the Employer, when appropriate.
To better align the work of the Union with the SHA’s established Health Networks and Areas, the following servicing assignments are in place.
Please refer to the geographical regions outlined in yellow on the SHA map to view SUN’s assignment areas.
